UPDATE 22/06/2023

Following our announcement of our new route on Friday, we are pleased to confirm that we will commence with our dedicated unaccompanied service on 28th June 2023, with the first departure being Calais – Tilbury 22:30hrs This new route will be replacing our current Sheerness<>Calais service, which will cease with the final departure from Sheerness at 11:00 hrs 28th June 2023.

The new Tilbury<>Calais service will initially start with one daily crossing in each direction, 6 days a week, operated by the Botnia Seaways with a capacity of 115 trailers per sailing.

The new route is a result of customer demand and feedback received during our regular customer surveys and we believe that the Tilbury<>Calais service will be more beneficial for our customers and help us to further improve our operational processes.

"DFDS has announced that it will be launching a new unaccompanied freight service from Tilbury to Calais, replacing its existing Sheerness – Calais service.

The newly located service will start in late June 2023 and will offer one daily sailing in each direction six days a week. The dedicated Tilbury – Calais service will be operated by the Botnia Seaways ship, with space for 115 unaccompanied units.

The relocation comes as a result of feedback received from customers and demand for a more accessible route into the UK."
