COMMENCING SUNDAY 10TH DECEMBER 2023
Amey, on behalf of Transport Scotland, are undertaking essential resurfacing on the A77 at Straids Pass, north of Lendalfoot.
Works will be carried out utilising a series of overnight closures between the hours of 8pm and 6am, each night, in two phases from Sunday 10th December until Wednesday 20th December 2023.
There will be overnight closures between Sunday 10th December and Friday 15th December, with no overnight works on Saturday 16th December for a further three nights of overnight closures from Sunday 17th December until Tuesday 19th December.
Additionally there will be daytime Temporary Traffic Lights in place during the works period.
A signed diversion route will be in operation, while this work is taking place:
Southbound traffic will exit the A77 at Shallochpark Roundabout onto the A714 and travel to North Barnkirk, turning right onto the unclassified road to South Barnkirk and then turning right onto the A75 and continuing westbound towards Stranraer before taking the A751 to Innermessan, to re-join the A77 northbound towards Cairnryan.
Northbound traffic will take the A77 southbound and turn left onto the A751 then left onto the A75 eastbound towards Newton Stewart, turning left onto the unclassified road at South Barnkirk and onto the A714 at North Barnkirk to the A77 Shallochpark Roundabout, where this diversion will end.
The expected travel time through the diversion is one hour and 36 minutes. Please plan your travel accordingly, and allow additional time for your journey, if necessary.
Other local routes will operate as normal.
Please note, all schemes are weather dependent and may be cancelled or rescheduled if weather conditions are not favourable.
