Balearia is a ferry operator that connects mainland Spain to the Balearic Islands.
Balearia was founded in 1998 and currently has a fleet of 17 ships. The company was originally set up by a group of officials, captains and executives from the former shipping company Flebasa. A recent investment of €350million in their ferries means Balearia has the most modern fleet in the Mediterranean. In 2011 Balearia also started operating ferries in the Caribbean between Fort Lauderdale and the Bahamas. The Bahamas route was added to in 2013 with a route from Miami to Birmini.
The modern fleet of ships mean that freight drivers and ferry passengers can enjoy a wide range of onboard services on the ships which includes restaurants, bars and even swimming pools.
