Once again, the Ride Le Loop (formerly Tour De Force) cycle challenge supported by Freightlink has exceeded all expectations and raised a colossal £361,000 for the William Wates Memorial Trust.
The Tour de France route is divided into a variety of Loops, with cyclists coming and going for different stages as they cycle from the Vendée to Paris. They cycle the same roads with feed stops and a team of mechanics, medics and physios to keep bike, body and mind together.
Whether you’re a seasoned roadie who’s always dreamed of cycling more than 1 stage of the Tour de France, a keen weekend warrior who’s ridden a century, or a regular cyclist who’s up for a challenge, Le Loop has a place for everyone.
Ride Le Loop was created by the William Wates Memorial Trust, who focus on working with the UK’s most disadvantaged young people to stay away from a life of crime and violence and to realise their potential. They do this through giving grants to charities such as youth clubs, sports, music and drama to engage with young people.
"We work with some incredible partners to make Le Loop happen. They help to make sure our logistics run smoothly and ensure that the event is the best it can possibly be. They make it possible for us to raise the huge amounts for WWMT each year that mean more and more disadvantaged young people get the support and encouragement they need to live good lives.
As ever, we are hugely grateful for the slick operation at Freightlink, enabling us to get our vehicles to and from France efficiently. And we love that they're so proud of what we do too!"
Kate Norris, Ride Le Loop Organiser.
"It's been another amazing year for the Ride Le Loop event and we always enjoy organising their travel arrangements. The amount they have raised for the William Wates Memorial Trust this year is absolutely fantastic. 2019 is going to be another brilliant year for the event and we can't wait to help them again in any way we can. Vive le tour!"
Adam Redford, Freightlink European Sales Manager.
